Clinical Investigator Preparatory Program

The Clinical Investigator Preparatory Program was developed by the UW-GCRC and was approved by the Medical School’s Academic Planning Council in May of 1997.  The purpose of this program is to 1) train junior clinical investigators to carry out scientifically sound, original, and productive research programs, and 2) assist them in developing the knowledge, experimental methodology, and communicative skills that will provide them with the motivation and capabilities to make major contributions in their areas of expertise. The primary goal of this program is to create researchers that are capable of developing research programs that will attract extramural funding and meet the criteria necessary to advance their career on the tenure track at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
