Chapter 630: Physicians and Assistants
Effective date: July 2, 1995

Section 630.3066

A physician is not subject to disciplinary action solely for prescribing or administering to a patient under his care:

1. Amygdalin (laetrile), if the patient has consented in writing to the use of the substance.

2. Procaine hydrochloride with preservatives and stabilizers (Gerovital H3).

3. A controlled substance which is listed in schedule II, III, IV or V by the state board of pharmacy pursuant to NRS 453.146, if the controlled substance is lawfully prescribed or administered for the treatment of intractable pain in accordance with accepted standards for the practice of medicine. Chapter 633: Osteopathic Medicine

Section 633.521

An osteopathic physician is not subject to disciplinary action solely for prescribing or administering to a patient under his care:

1. Amygdalin (laetrile), if the patient has consented to the use of the substance.

2. Procaine hydrochloride with preservatives and stabilizers (Gerovital H3).

3. A controlled substance which is listed in schedule II, III, IV or V by the state board of pharmacy pursuant to NRS 453.146, if the controlled substance is lawfully prescribed or administered for the treatment of intractable pain in accordance with accepted standards for the practice of osteopathic medicine.
