Committees

GCRC Advisory Committee

The GCRC Advisory Committee (GAC) reviews, approves, and oversees all research projects requesting UW-GCRC support. The GAC members are appointed by the dean on a limited term basis. This committee meets monthly.

The committee evaluates proposals based upon scientific merit and need for center resources. It is responsible for the designation of the category of inpatient days and outpatient visits for each research project proposed to the center as category A, B, or D.

Prior to the GAC Meeting, a GCRC Pre-Review Committee assesses each protocol. Memos go to the investigator and study coordinator, asking for clarification or information before the full GAC meets. The purpose is to make submissions more efficient and timely.

Post-Review Meeting

The Post-Review Committee meets after the formalGAC review to assign a priority ranking based on the NIH, industry, or unfunded status. The group also finalizes the study's award for number of inpatient days, outpatient visits, and ancillaries.
